What To Do When The Meeting Ends
Unless you have arranged to stay in the room after the meeting, it’s best to clean up and leave the office relatively quickly. There are a few reasons for this. The two most important ones are:
- Most VCs have small office spaces with only a few conference rooms. It can put them in a tough spot if you force them to ask you to leave for another meeting, as few VCs want to be rude.
- They may want to quickly deliberate about your company before another meeting, but prefer to wait for you to leave the office.
Do not talk about the meeting until you have left the building, and talking outside of the VC’s office is not a great idea either. You never know when you might bump into one of their partners in a hallway or on the elevator.
The last thing that you need to do is send any follow-up items (e.g., models, presentations, reports, contact information, etc) to the VC.
Just to clarify your language -- "the last thing you need to do" is an affirmative, right? I've found that it's important to send follow-up information a day after the meeting.
Or are you saying "the last thing" as in, the worst you could do? Sorry -- it could be a figure of speech.

Ariel,
Your first interpretation is correct - it was meant as an ordinal. The last item on the list of things to do.
