Don't Send Lots Of Emails After Being Rejected

In my post, Creating Momentum, I talk about how to use communications with VCs as a mechanism for generating interest. While this is a very important tactic, you should be aware of the boundaries for using this angle.

In a nutshell, you should try to create momentum while the VC is in the process of evaluating your business. Once they have decided not to invest, emails that once were perceived to be intriguing and relevant to the VC can quickly become annoying and a distraction.

Once an investor passes, you should switch gears from fundraising to relationship development mode. If you handle a rejection gracefully, VCs are more likely to both intorduce you to other potential investors and take a look at your next startup.
